Ruca has a self-sustaining early-stage investment arm that is derived solely based on our services revenue. So without outside people to impress or stay on some predefined course, we are left to support whatever we want to with our own hard-earned money. Thus, no thesis, just gut, and passion.

Ruca practices a 1-1 model with every contract. On the services side, a percentage of profit is cut out for future startup needs. When that profit fills up the fund high enough, we distribute our capital to the startups, and the cycle repeats itself.

We are not your traditional venture fund. We are self-funded and serve as our own LP. This enables us to look beyond 10X returns and to share carry with the Ruca co-op.

Ruca is actively building Yorba in-house because we saw the mess for what it is: an internet optimized for businesses to extract, not for people to manage. Everyone’s walking around with bloated digital baggage, and no tools to unpack it. Yorba is our answer: built for real people to reclaim control in a world of automated, unasked-for clutter and needless junk.
